FAMILY SELF-CARE: MEDITATION FOR THE SOUL
Updated: Sep 23, 2021
In this moment of so many deep and intense challenges that we go through as humanity, we can, and should, create in our family daily self-care and connection moments with our family members, especially with our children. These moments register and ground in the family psyche, especially in children, an experience of calm, relaxation, and bond.
Mukta Ardas Kaur, from Argentina, shares in this video one of these moments with her daughter, Lila, where through a simple practice, a moment of relaxation, closeness, and soul to soul connection is generated.
This exercise is an invitation for us to learn to face and overcome pain and calamities with self-acceptance and courage, a feeling that crosses many in this current historical moment. When the exercise becomes painful, go through it to reach the stage where there is no pain, knowing and respecting the limits of your body.
How about this experience to qualify your relationship with yourself and your family?
Instructions: ”SOUL GUIDE” MEDITATION
DURATION: 3 to 11 minutes
MUSIC: Tantric Har, easily found on streaming sites.
MUDRA: Sit in easy pose or on a chair with your spine straight, away from the backrest. With both hands, touch the tip of your index finger to the tip of your thumb; lock your elbows at the sides of your rib cage and place your hands in front of your shoulders, palms facing forward. Holding this hand posture, tilt the forearms together with the hands forward at a 45-degree angle to the shoulders. This is the starting position.
MOVEMENT: With each repetition of HAR, arch the hands from the starting position upwards and backwards, about 30 cm; and stop them in a freeze position near the ears. The palms remain facing forward. Do this vigorously, you will feel the strength as your hands rise upward.
